Super Rugby returns for the 2020 season with the best of Southern Hemisphere rugby. Four continents and five countries (South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and Japan) will see 18 rounds of action, with 15 franchises competing to be crowned Super Rugby champions.

In 2019, New Zealand’s Crusaders team were crowned the Super Rugby champs for the 3^rd year in a row, after beating the Jaguares in the finals. But who will walk away with the title in 2020?

Be sure to catch all the action from kick-off on 31 January to the final match on 20 June.

The 2019 Super Rugby – the annual competition’s 24^th season – sees 15 teams from five countries tackle each team in the league to see who will emerge victorious.

South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and Japan will battle it out, kicking off on 15 February with matches between Highlanders vs. Chiefs (08.35am) and Brumbies vs. Rebels (10.45am)

In 2018, New Zealand’s Crusaders team was crowned the Super Rugby champs, after beating the South African Lions 37-18 in the finals. 

Since being reduced from an 18-team competition in 2017, this year is the second season using the reduced 15-team format, which consists of three geographical conferences.

Be sure to keep 6 July free to watch the final match. The quarter finals take place on 22 June, while the semi-finals are on 29 June.

If you’re a rugby fan, like we are, then take note – this year’s Super Rugby viewing schedule can be downloaded for free on our website.

15 teams from South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and Japan will battle it out on the rugby field to see who will emerge as champions, kicking off on 17 February with a match between the Stormers and the Jaguares from Argentina.

The final conference match is on the 14 July, when the Sharks take on the Jaguares. Thereafter, the semi-finals take place in July, culminating in the final match to determine which team gets to take home the winner’s trophy on 4 August.

The Super Rugby season kicks off on 23 February with the Rebels taking on the Bulls at AAMI stadium in Melbourne, Australia, culminating with a battle on 5^th August between the finalist teams.

Recognised as the preeminent professional men's rugby union football competition, Super Rugby features playoffs between regional rugby teams based in the Southern Hemisphere and Japan.
